Joint therapies
Every joint in the human body fulfils very specific functions and has its own peculiarities. Consequently, as a ball joint, the shoulder can move in almost any direction. By contrast, in the finger joints, the gripping function, flexion and extension in one direction is sufficient. The injuries and illnesses that can occur in relation to the joints are as diverse as the individual joints themselves. As such, each disease pattern requires individual treatment. When patients come to us, we place an importance on carrying out an accurate diagnosis first of all so that, in a targeted way, we can tailor the subsequent treatment to the complaints and the individual patient.
Our main focus is on the prevention and treatment of degenerative joint disease. This includes joint-preserving procedures, such as the correction of congenital or acquired deformities. Through this, long-term damage in the form of severe degenerative articular processes (osteoarthritis) can be avoided. Our work is mostly made up of hip and knee joint endoprothetics, arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder joints as well as hand and foot surgery.
On the following pages we would like to give you an initial overview of the various treatment options for joint pain. In a personal appointment, we are happy to discuss with you the methods which are suitable in your case as well as what opportunities, risks and alternatives there are.
