Epidural Infiltration (Catheter Technique, Neuroplasty)

ImageBack problems can be eliminated usually by means of conservative therapies. In cases of intervertebral disc protrusions or prolapses, spinal canal stenosis and spondylolisthesis, we use the procedure of neuroplasty. This is a protective and minimally invasive method, which alleviates pain by means puncturing with a special thin catheter.

Process of Treatment

During the intervention, you lie on your stomach. After a local anesthesia and illumination, a special catheter is introduced in the spinal canal through the lower end of the coccyx. That way, the tip of the catheter comes as close as possible to the spot of the prolapse or protrusion. Next, you are supervised in an observation room and we administer you a solution made from special substances through the catheter. This special solution alleviates the swelling and causes the shrinking of the intervertebral disc prolapse, thereby creating more space for nerves. Enzymes loosen concrescences and support the dissolution of the prolapse. Additionally, medications mixed in cause a suppression of the pain signals. In the following days of your stay with us, you will undergo further infiltrations. After the last administration, the mini-tube is finally removed. Around 80% of all patients treated with neuroplasty would recommend this method.
